KARACHI: A woman is baffled after receiving ‘fake banknotes’ from an ATM located in Karachi’s Saddar area.
A Karachi woman claimed to have received counterfeit banknotes from an ATM in Saddar area after withdrawing 500 rupees. She said the message was printed on the fake banknotes: “Bachoon ka khel.Woman receives fake banknotes from an ATM in Karachi [Just for children to play]”
The woman reportedly had taken the matter to a private bank official. But management declined to deal with her complaints.
The affected women also posted on social media platforms to raise awareness of the spread of counterfeit banknotes in Karachi.

Kokropar police station officials have arrested five men accused of selling counterfeit banknotes in markets in Karachi.
Police said the accused worked as a gang that circulated counterfeit banknotes in the market. Police also recovered more than 118,000 rupees worth of counterfeit banknotes.
It is relevant to mention here that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has taken the best measures to detect and control counterfeit banknotes.
