Looks like Velma needs a same-sex boo in the upcoming HBO Max Scooby Doo Halloween movie.
Clips from the animated special “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!” have aired on social media, with people using them to announce that the characters are finally being portrayed as gay.Velma in new ‘Scooby Doo’ clip appeals

Other clips were also published on social media. including a clip where Velma tells fellow detective Daphne that she “I’m going crazy” and ask for advice on what to do.
Fans have long believed that Velma is part of the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2020, director James Gunn Said to try to make the character explicitly gay. In the live-action screenplay “Scooby-Doo”
“In 2001, Vel was clearly gay in my initial script” (for the live-action “Scooby-Doo”) in 2002, he tweeted at the time. “But the studio kept watering and watering it. become obscure (Taken in the version) and then nothing. (launch version) and finally got a boyfriend (sequel)”
Gunn wrote both the 2001 live-action film and the 2004 sequel, both starring Linda. Cardellini in Velma
In the sequel, actress Seth Green plays Velma’s girlfriend, and nothing in the film suggests she is gay.

CNN reached out to Warner Bros., like HBO Max, which is owned by CNN’s parent company, for comment.
