Karachi: The Pakistani rupee on Friday maintained support against the US dollar and rose 2.24 in the interbank market.
According to a forex dealer, the US dollar is currently trading at Rs 219.70 on the interbank market and the bank sells for Rs 220.20.rupee was up against the US dollar interbank.
On the open market, the US dollar is sold between 221 and 223 rupees.
On Thursday, PKR rose 2.00 rupees against the US dollar and closed at 221.94 rupees in the interbank market.

It is necessary to mention here that the rupee, which fell near a record low of Rs 239.71 on September 22, has recovered since Dar’s replacement. Miftah Ismail As Minister of Finance, Rs17.77 or 7.41pc has been earned in the last nine sessions.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar previously pledged to bring the rupee back to its original value, which is less than 200 against the US dollar. “I can truly prove that the real value (dollars) is less than Rs200.” he added.
