Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Wednesday that the process for appointing a new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces (COAS) is likely to be completed by Thursday.
In a statement, Khawaja Asif said the brief was likely to be passed on to the president on Thursday. He added that he didn’t think the president would raise any issues with the conclusion. Khawaja Asif said the process should be completed in a day.
Asif said the full process of the new COAS appointment is expected to be completed by Thursday.
He said receiving a brief on Tuesday night had evaded Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Rana Sanaullah’s reservations.
