British weightlifter Karenjeet Kaur Bains sets the Guinness World Record for most squat bodyweight lifting in one minute (female).

“I am very proud to own the Guinness World Records,” she said, according to Guinness on their website. “To say that I have made my mark in history by becoming not only the first British Sikh woman to represent Great Britain in powerlifting but also an official world record holder is an incredible feeling!”
The world record holder is the first British Sikh woman to represent Great Britain in the sport.
The athlete competed for about a decade before starting her sports career. She has won several tournaments in the Warwichshire county.
She was the first British Sikh woman to represent Great Britain in powerlifting. She was also called the fastest woman in the school.
The lifter claims that the boys did not want to compete with her in the race because she would beat them in the 100m dash in the 40m.
Karenjeet Kaur Bains comes from a family of athletes. A five-time England champion and five-time All England champion, the powerlifter competes in the World Classic Powerlifting Championships. in Helsingborg, Sweden in 2019.
She became a Commonwealth Powerlifting Champion, winning three gold medals in the Squat Deadlift and the Overall Championship. She also received two silver medals in Bench press and Bench Press only.
The 25-year-old represented Britain at the European Powerlifting Championships in Lithuania, finishing in the top ten.
She made her senior debut at the World Classic Bench Press Championships Lithuania, finishing sixth in the world.
